Volvo recently introduced an available air purifying system that can be ordered on any of the 60 and 90 series vehicles which is capable of removing pollution, allergens and viruses from the ambient air.
A system certified by Allergy Standards Limited (ASL)
The air purifying system offered in new Volvo vehicles has been certified Asthma and Allergy Friendly by Allergy Standards Limited because it is able to prevent 99.9% of the pollen from grass, trees, and weeds from entering the cabin of the vehicle through the ventilation system. This helps drivers and passengers who suffer from seasonal allergies to be more at ease in a new Volvo vehicle.
Live monitoring of the pollution in and out of the vehicle
The new Volvo vehicles equipped with the air purifying system feature a display that can show in real-time the level of contaminants present in the air outside the vehicle as well as inside the vehicle. By monitoring the concentration of pollen and fine particulates that circulate both in and out of the cabin, this system helps the driver decide when the purifier should be turned on and when it can be turned off. This also makes it easy to verify the effectiveness of the system by comparing the two figures
Protection against many viruses
By purifying the air inside their cabins, the new Volvo vehicles equipped with the Advanced Air Cleaner can stop 97% of the airborne viruses from making it past the air filter, while also removing 95% of the viruses that could have entered through the doors or on occupant’s clothes. This means that everyone on board can be safer and healthier by breathing air that is free from many types of contaminants that are usually found in the air that enters vehicles as they drive along.
