Nearly Half of Volvo EX30 Pre-Sold in Canada, Signaling EV Demand Surge

The Volvo EX30, a newly introduced electric vehicle by Volvo Car Canada, has almost reached a notable pre-sale benchmark, with close to 50% of its inventory claimed since the launch on October 18. This trend is part of a larger movement toward electric vehicles in Canada, evidenced by EVs accounting for 20.8% of Volvo's total Canadian sales in October. These figures are consistent with Volvo's strategy to become an exclusively electric vehicle manufacturer by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

Crafted with environmental sustainability as a priority, the EX30's design includes an interior made from 30% recycled and renewable materials and an exterior composed of 25% recycled aluminum. Matt Girgis, the Managing Director at Volvo Cars Canada, points out that the EX30 meets the growing Canadian demand for eco-friendly, safe, and premium electric vehicles. The vehicle's starting price is set at $53,700, and it is available in a range of colors and interior designs.

Featuring two electric propulsion options, the EX30 includes a Twin Motor Performance model with 422 horsepower, which can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The vehicle is also equipped with comprehensive safety features like the Blind Spot Information System and Driver Alert System, showcasing Volvo's commitment to safety.

Canadians can personalize their EX30 on Volvo's website, with deliveries expected to begin in Summer 2024. The vehicle is part of Volvo Car Canada’s 'One Price Promise', a transparent, negotiation-free purchase process. The Volvo EX30 is a key addition to Volvo's lineup, embodying a balance of environmental sustainability, advanced safety features, and dynamic performance.
