Volvo is one of the leading automakers when it comes to electrified luxury vehicles. Volvo offers an impressive range of plug-in hybrid powertrain vehicles as well as a fully electric lineup of premium small sport utility vehicles.
The new Volvo XC40 charge as well as the C40 Recharge are fully electric while the Volvo XC60 Recharge, XC90 Recharge, and the full lineup of Volvo cars offer plug-in hybrid powertrain.
All of these have different characteristics and offer different benefits and advantages. A fully electric vehicle means never have to put fuel in your Volvo again while a plug-in hybrid vehicle allows you to continue on your way regardless of how far you have to drive thanks to the available gas engine. In both cases, however, the fuel economy of your Volvo vehicle will be significantly improved with a Recharge model.
There also specific distinctions when it comes to charging your Volvo. With a Volvo XC40 or C40 Recharge, charging times are a little longer of course but they are still very quick for an electric vehicle. Your Volvo C40 Recharge or XC40 Recharge can charge from 20% to 90% in 8 to 10 hours on a Level II charger, and between 40 minutes and 2.0 hours on a DC fast charger.
A Volvo XC60 Recharge, XC90 Recharge, or other Recharge models need between 3.0 and 4.0 hours to charge on a Level II charger. That will give you 100% range meaning that you will have over 50 km of all-electric driving range or more depending on the model. Give us a call today to learn more.
